Well this week has been dominated by 2 transport stories on the news. The first was the petition against introducing road taxing to roads in the UK and the second was the fatal train crash in Cumbria where several people were injured and one was killed, to what could be faulty maintenance.
It is an indication of the state the UK is in, for just wanting to get from A to B. Do we use our cars or public transport. If we use our cars, we contribute to the congestion issues that the goverment want to tax us on, but if we choose public transport, we put our lives on the line. (more…)
Well it came as they said it would and for once the gritters did appear to be ready for it or warned us in advance that they would be stretched. Of course I am talking about the snowfall that has eventually hit the UK. Unlike previous years the news was about the snow and not about the councils being unprepared with the gritting. (more…)
Just think of the last time you bought your car insurance. Either explaining details over the phone, on a form from the internet or even pen and paper. Just think of the time it takes to process each insurance application and then to administer the cover note and then check for no claims bonus etc, etc. (more…)
