breakdown cover

It is now being considered in New York, to ban anyone to talk on their mobile phone or listen to their iPod whilst crossing the road. It seems many accidents are caused by pedestrians not looking where they are going do to being distracted by modern electronic pastimes.

There was no mention of reading newspapers, or talking to friends, or looking at the advertising lights. Only the electronic gadgets. Where will it end, yes i know accidents are caused this way, but there are so many other reasons for accidents and life will just stop if we wrap ourselves up in cotton wool.

So are we also going to fine motorists if their car breaks down. Will it be seen as dangerous for other motorist to look at your stranded car as they drive by and that by maintaining your car better, you would have broken down and the roads would be safer. Will breakdown cover vans cause accidents because they tend to be painted in bright colours and drivers passing the vans may be distracted or want to read the writing on the side on the van.

Where and when will it stop, is it dangerous for the breakdown cover patrolman to work at the side of the road, so should all vehicles be automatically towed away to an area away from the car. But then comes the question about towing the car. Is it safe, will it not slow down the traffic, will people driving not want to know what is written on the recovery vehicle?

Of course i am talking rubbish, common sense must come into the equation and just sometimes, too many people forget about this basic requirement to life survival.

As with the hands free argument and the breakdown cover van arguemant, give up, enough is enough
