Quotes for a dealer to do so were up to £250 and more, but in fairness did start from around £30 + vat for one hours labour, as it requires removing certain parts off the car. But who wants to pay £40 to by the time you ad VAT and the price of the light bulb, as who would pay the £250 or so, it is just a silly design.
In the end, the breakdown cover engineer need not have been embarrassed as it clearly is bad design, but you can’t help thinking if it took a trained breakdown cover engineer over 45 minutes to do this job, how long would it take a member of the public, or in fact can it be done at all.

The caller pretends to have rung the wrong number stating he wants help frpm a personal breakdown, bur obviously has rand a breakdown cover company. The person on the other end of the phone, is forced to take this seriously, not knowing it is a joke and keeps saying over again, he can’t help him, but ther is someone who can.

To be honest I did not find it that funny, and I think the person recieving the phone call did a great job and acted professionally, but of course you may have a different opinion. give it a listen and make your own mind up.

It was only when i saw this TV advert that I got the connection, Car Recovery rather than breakdown. IO have no idea how old this TV advert is, but it is worth a watch even if it isn’t really motor related.
