breakdown cover

Some of you may have recently received your Green Flag breakdown cover renewal, but before you put in the bin or just accept it, it may be worth checking out what the renewal is.

Last year at this time Green Flag had an offer where if you bought the basic rescue package, you got the home start package included. what you also may not be aware of, if the automatic renewal box you probably left ticked, whist filling in the online form.

This year as the renewal quotes are going out, they are inclusive of the home start.

So if last year you only wanted the basic rescue package, but accpeted the home start because it was free, this year you renewal is a good twenty pounds more expensive, because this year you are paying for it.

You have a cooling off period.

The good news is, you do have a cooling off period. So if your breakdown cover has been renewed automatically including home start, that you do not want. You can ask for a refund, or adjustment. But only if you act as soon as you recived the warning of renewal or the renewal itself.

If you are just after the basic rescue breakdown cover package, Green Flag have a very competative £27 package.

I forgot to mention how good the customer service was with Green Flag when my collegue rang up complain about this issue and after asking me to include it with my breakdown cover blog, I totally forgot.

First of all she got and imediate refund because it was within the cooling off period, but even when she said she wanted the basic rescue package there was no pressure to buy there and then.

So she came off the phone and ordered online via breakdown cover net of course. She of course got the online price as well, so from a disgruntled customer to a happy one, that is how all the finacial services should work.

I just hope she doesn’t breakdown at home this year or she will kick herself.
