The whole principle of inusrance and what includes breakdown cover is that things just happen when we don’t expect them, to people you would not expect and in a way you would not expect.

An example of this, is the sad dissapearance of Steve Fosset the man famous for breaking many world records including flying, hot air balloonng and many more. Just over 2 weeks ago, Steve took a private plane to fly what we believe to be over the Nevada dessert, either for a pleasure flight or to look for sites for a forth comming land speed record. No one has heard of him since.

If there ever was person you would belive would come back from a situation like this, it would be Steve who had nearly died a few times from his aventures.  It is strange circumstances from a man who would normally plan everything he does, flying a plane fitted with a tracking device from hard landings or crashes. However what does seem strange is no one seems to be totally sure where he was going, with just an understanding he would be back in about 3 hours.

The Nevada dessert does not have breakdown cover patrols for private planes and during the search for Steve they appear to have found another 7 plane wrecks they did not know about before. You can search for him yourself using Google Earth, as they have released the latest photos of the area. Until yesterday there was a full scale search that has covered 1000.s miles and now with the large serach called off it reamins up to the small amount of volunteers to continue. Hope faded some time ago that Steve would be found alive and some say he may never be found.

His family must be going through hell not only for the dissapearance but the not knowing, must be hitting them hard .

So if you are thinking to yourself, things just will not happen to me, then think of steve and his family.
