Again, it can be painful to change a flat tyre especially if it is cold and wet and dark. Unfortunate though it may be, but you should be prepared and aware of how to change a flat tyre.

Tip# 5: An involuntary pit stop without marshalling help!

I hate changing a flat tyre. Not because my clothes dirty nor the fact that it requires some effort but I hate it due to fact that it can happen anywhere, anytime, without a notice!

Changing a tyre during winter is a much avoidable exercise. Cold, wet and gloomy experience! If you are ever stuck in such a situation, call AA. But if you rather do it yourself, then here’s a list of things you should stow in the boot of your car especially for such uncalled for incidents.

1) Old pair of gloves
2) An old sheet so that you can sit on the roadside. You can also use it to wrap the dirt flat tyre in your car’s boot
3) An old anorak that will keep you dry if it rains
4) A full-charged torch – the more powerful the better
5) Locking wheel nut key (Very important)
6) A bottle of water and some soap to wash your hands after the job is done

Try to practice changing a tyre in the comfort of your own driveway, familiarise yourself with the jacking points on the belly of your car.
