According to the report by the Daily Mail, one in 4 motorist go to the road unprepared with basics such as a jack or spare tyre.

Zurich Insurance claim that up to half of drivers would attempt to change a tyre or jump start a car, rather than wait for help.

Taking simple precautions can reduce the likelihood of a breakdown.
