I was looking through the RAC breakdown cover site recently (as you do) and came across the RAC patrolmen top 5. To put it bluntly consists of elephants, bird shit and the 400 people a day that put diesel in a petrol car.

To be fair the advice is actually quite serious like counting elephants to keep you a safe distance away from the car in front.

If the RAC get 400 calls a day from those who put diesel in their cars instead of petrol, how many daily calls are there if you include Green Flag, Autonational, The AA, Churchill callouts as well?

I am saying nothing as I did this once with a hire van that did not have the sticker next to the fuel cap. The fact the engine rattled like a tin can should have been a hint it was a diesel.
